3rd Trimester

Well the bump arrived just after 24 weeks. Lots of people were still shocked to hear at the end that I was so far along and even overdue! Mommy was very lucky the entire pregnancy and barely had to wear maternity clothes. My friend Nichole threw your baby shower a month before my due date. We were blessed with lots of fun things for you and loved the fun nautical theme. Mommy noticed that day that her feet were really starting to hurt. After a quick road trip one weekend in late May/ June we noticed mommy's feet got swollen for the first time and this was the case for the whole last month of pregnancy! We had an adventure at the hospital a couple weeks before you were due. The swelling was really bad one day and the Dr. had me go in for a non-stress test. You were totally fine. Just the fun I got to deal with for the rest of the time. Really though, it's the only bad thing I had the whole time!

3rd Trimester!

Happy 4th of July!

Halfway through my 3rd trimester I noticed you moved a lot! By the end I couldn't sleep in anymore because you would kick and push up on my ribs. It hurt a lot and did get quite uncomfortable.

The last 3 weeks the only pair of shoes I could wear were my aqua Crocs. The whole last 3rd of the pregnancy I busily got ready for your arrival. I yard saled every weekend for weeks, shopped for diaper sales and worked on organizing and cleaning the house. I continued to do my workouts up to my due date and just walked everyday once I was past. At 36 weeks we had an ultrasound to see if you were in head down position and you were! Things were great health wise for both of us. My protein went up a little bit at the end but went back to normal. At 38,39 and 40 weeks there was very little progress so at 40 weeks I told them I wanted my induction scheduled for the 6th of August. We were all very anxious for your arrival. My mom flew in late on the night of your due date and we played for a week doing fun projects and shopping for you to come.

Halfway!

20 Weeks already!!!

Nugget we LOVE you! Mommy can still hide the tiny tiny bunk she has. But measurements have shown 3 inch gains on her tummy! We're slowly getting there!  You are the size of a banana/ mango this week. Daddy felt you kick for the first time at 20 weeks 6 days! Friday March 14th we had your full anatomy scan! What a miracle you are! We got to watch you for a while 30 min and it was so neat to see all the growth you've done! At one point Mommy had tears of joy just watching you move and see this little person thriving. You are SO cute and SO beautiful! We got an immediate profile and got to see that you love to have your hands close to your face. The ultrasound tech showed us all the anatomy and for a while thought maybe you were a girl because your legs were squeezed tight and you had the three lines. Luckily mommy had a Very full bladder and once that was gone you opened up a bit more and we got to see you're a BOY! Everyone is SO excited! We can't wait to meet you!!!

18 Weeks

18 weeks! We find out who you are in TWO weeks! Everything still feels pretend! Mommy is worried she's getting fat but Daddy is 100% that you're growing I'm there! You're the size of a bell pepper! Feel flutters still every once in a while. Showing a bit more but no one else notices yet. Hungry all the time! Bacon, Cheetos and smoothies are delicious! We are SO hoping to find out who you are!

16 Weeks

Went to the doctor this week and met with an MD. She says Mommy is boring and normal and hopefully everything stays that way. Still buttoning my jeans and told by MD and the lady in radiology that I'm carrying really well because you can't even tell. Long torso is creating lots of room for you, Mommy can tell a little. Feels like a little ball inside when she lays on her tummy. Heart rate was in 140s and all is well and active. Could hardly hear your heartbeat over all that moving! Have been feeling flutters for a week or so. It's very gentle. Gagging has STOPPED!

12 Weeks

We got a surprise at the doctor this week! An ultrasound! We got to see you again! It was so fun to see you wiggle and move all over the place. I could hardly believe it was my belly until I laughed and could see my belly move on the screen. Still haven't bought much since we don't know what you are yet. Mommy lost 2.5 pounds so we ate at Five Guys for dinner. Your heartbeat is 164 and you're very healthy. For the last few weeks flossing can make me gag and even trying to wear my retainer. You are getting so big already. Keep growing little nugget!

Week 9 & 10

Week 9:
Getting ready to fly home to Seattle for Christmas! Decided to make custom tees for everyone. Even Daddy and Mommy which was a surprise for Daddy! SO excited to share the news with everyone. We decided to put your pics in a Prego jar and attach pink and blue balloons. Had to get the balloons at Albertson's since Dollar Tree will only fill mylar. Mom made a yummy salmon dinner with pilaf and Caesar salad. I went to bed not feeling great and got up in the middle of the night and puked for the first time! Got up later in the morning and puked up a pile! Daddy had to help clean up the mess. Looks like it was BAD salad dressing. But our secret was still safe!

Week 10:
We're in the fetal period this week! You're sharing my bloodstream and starting to excrete. Christmas was VERY exciting! Auntie Hillary punched the box and then we made them open it. Grandma says, "oh look! Balloons!" But doesn't know what's really happening until Hillary says, "Its an alien!" I tell everyone it's our alien and jaws drop. Mom starts crying she's so excited! You are already SO loved! Sugar is still not good and Mommy is feeling great.

Week 8

Had our first appointment this week and got to see you and hear your heartbeat! It's at 141! Which is great! Nothing felt like it was happening until we saw you! The nurse told me my uterus was enlarged, then we saw you were in there and heard your heartbeat! Very exciting! When we came in and the nurse said "Mom you sit here. Dad you sit here." First time we've heard that! Nurse Paige was SO nice! She asked if we had told family yet and knew we were waiting to tell at Christmas. Asked us how many pictures to print so we could have enough. I thought I had to take a pee test so I drank a whole water bottle when I went in. She looks in and says my bladder was too full. Went potty and came back and it was still full so it's in your first picture. Haha
When we look at your tiny little ultrasound we started referring to you as Nugget.

Mom:
.Chest FINALLY doesn't hurt!
.Love meat! When we drive around town I talk about eating steak and hamburgers
.Still not sick!
.Still tired. Going to the grocery store sounds like running 3 miles.

Baby:
.Size of a raspberry
.Growing 1mm per day!
.No more tail
.Facial features forming

Week 7

Brandon had to be in Salt Lake for a business trip all this week. I kept myself busy with the Relief Society Christmas Party. I made two cookie sheets FULL of chicken that I had to finish cooking at the church and zested my thumb and peeled about 100 things if garlic by hand. Raw chicken and food in general aren't bugging me. I am not really wanting to eat sweets though which is SO weird for me! I went to a craft night and just hung out at home.

Mommy is:
.A little tired. I get home from work and spend 10-20 minutes in the car listening to the radio or reading email
.SO excited for the appointment next week!
. Hate sweets
.If I'm not eating constantly I'm either starving or don't want to eat if I wait to long
.Cant eat enough salad!
.Bloating is going down!

Baby is:
.A blueberry
.Mouth, tongue and kidneys are forming
.Arm and leg buds are popping out

6 Weeks

I've been feeling so great! No puking or morning sickness. But I do have to be sure to eat all the time because I'm STARVING!

Week 6:

Mom:
-Always hungry
-Called the doctor to make our first appointment
-Apparently my extreme exercise is NOT kosher, so trying to tone it down!
-SO hard to keep you a secret
-Peeing all the time!

Baby:
-Size of a nailhead 1/4 inch
-facial features are growing
-kidney, liver, lungs developing

Baby!

We got back from NY and we found out we're having a NUGGET!

New York!

Our very good friends from college moved this year out to Nutley, NJ. We miss you Danna! Feeling up to a new adventure we decided to go to their house for Thanksgiving this year. Although we missed family it was really fun to break the mold and do something different. We LOVED NY and spending time with them! We thought we saw a lot but looking back...yeah I think we barely scratched the surface.

Day 1

Starting in Lower Manhattan...the NY Stock Exchange

and a Tiffany and Co. It was FREEZING btw. We knew the layer up the next day. There are no heat rests when wandering the streets of NY.

Wandered down the other side and found some amazing old ships.

The detail was awesome.

Went to the 9/11 Memorial. Was so far away when it happened it was truly just humbling to be there and see where it all happened. My teachers didn't want to play the footage so I really enjoyed being part of it. Right smack in the middle of buildings. Must have been utter chaos. This is a piece of the wreckage someone had carved into art.

The future museum.

Ran over to see how close we could see the Statue of Liberty...you definitley have to ride the ferry. Put that on the to-do list for tomorrow.

And found the bull from Hitch. There were SO MANY people trying to get pictures with it. This asian lady was practically rolling all over the thing. lol

Although this was the first time we entered the Subway it wasn't the first time we rode it. We figured that out after...

My NY pose for the ?Brooklyn Bride?

Made out way through Chinatown. They had some dried stuff I've never even seen before! So entertaining. Then we figured out the Subway and saw Rockefeller Center. For me this was the true NY magic. The hustle and bustle and Time Square are unlike anything I've ever seen. And gearing up for Christmas the shops and everything looked amazing!

The scaffolding on the Christmas tree. My family watches the tree lighting every year. It was fun to see it unfold the few days we were there.

Let me just say too...the ice skating rink is TINY. Nothing like it seems on TV.

Our first NY hot dogs. SO GOOD!!!!

Minions were EVERYWHERE

TIME SQUARE

More amazing Christmas decor across from Radio City.

Can't forget those hot dog stands. We ate those A LOT.

Take 500...people don't stop and wait for tourists to act like Rockette's.

And the world's most expensive/ DIVINE cheesecake ever!!!!! Perfect way to end our day.

DAY 2

Had to start out our morning the true NY way..eating a bagel, with a square slab of cream cheese from a food truck of course!

And then decided to ride the ferry to Ellis Island to see the Statute of Liberty.

Lower Manhattan

It is truly an American icon and was really awesome to explore. We just did the self guided tour at the base. To go up in the crown you have to plan months in advance....opps

But it was still really cool. B found a coin that is the thickness of Lady Liberty and we learned it hasn't always been green. It's what copper does to protect itself and we noticed after a lot more green on many older buildings throughout NY.

The gift shop of course had torch handles. COOL

And we went to where the immigrants actually checked in. That would have been SO stressful to stand in line with all these random countries. Many didn't know if they'd even get to stay because they might have a health issue that we couldn't fix and get sent back home.

And Cake Boss opened a store in Time Square so we bounced up there and got a cannoli and a lobster tail! I've always wanted one but Hoboken was kinda off out beaten path.

We took it over to buy our WICKED tickets! I've always wanted to go. In fact if I died without seeing Wicked on Broadway I would have been a little devastated. But my wonderful hubby bit the bullet for us and we were off to see it in just a few hours. Not of course before enjoying out Cake Boss treats and dancing around NY.

SOOOO Excited! Words can't describe!

The Time Square steps.

And we also really wanted some true NY pizza. We found a place that Oprah and her friend Gayle love. It was FANTASTIC! Pizza you can only dream of! AND LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THOSE SLICES!

Got back to the Gershwin for WICKED! It was amazing! Dare I say life changing! Everything I hoped for and more. Loved it loved it loved it!

DAY 3

Anna's YW Pres. and family were headed to see the Macy's day parade. They offered to take us and we are SO GLAD we went. Again, family tradition EVERY year to watch the Macy's Day Parade. The streets were PACKED and we thought we'd just be in the crowd that was until...someone was on the corner giving away two tickets in the bleachers. We had a place to sit and it wasn't with the everyone else crowd! It was so exciting to see all the floats and celebrities. I'll never see that many again I'm sure. It was really neat. Note: the Rockettes and Broadway stars don't hoof it the whole way. They just show up at center stage.

The days prior to this. These girls were in the matching jackets EVERYWHERE in NY.

Poor Spider-Man...got caught on a post. They almost didn't fly the balloons because it was a little windy.

And on our way back we saw where they do the ballets, right across from the Manhattan temple btw.

DAY 4

Had to go see Parson's for my sister Hanna. It's her dream school.

And found the future crocs store.

Saw the United Nations

And the Christmas tree ready for the lighting.

And went to the top of the Rockefeller. What a NEAT place!

360 degree views. Shows you how truly huge everything is.

The light room would find you and follow you around when you walked to the other side.

Swarovski Crystals all over the place.

Amazing details.

And back underneath...the Swarovski Store

And that was our NY Experience. November 2013. Before we left it was cutting it close to pregnancy test. But I didn't want to be disappointed so we waited till we got back. What did we find out the morning after we flew back?! We're EXPECTING! Baby #1 July 30, 2014. Could not be more thrilled, excited and ready for this baby! It was a very happy/ emotional morning. :)
