"Gluestick"

As of December 3rd I have completed my student teaching experience in 2nd grade. What a rich experience! I have learned that teaching is more than for me! I can't wait to eventually get my own classroom where I can love more students. Now that I've discovered being home alone is totally boring I've registered with my districts subfinder system and work when they need me to substitute. This past Monday I was able to sub for my student teaching class. They were so excited and so giddy. I was trying to read a story and my "genius" idea was to have them PRETEND (emphasis on pretend) to put glue on their lips and then press them shut. I noticed one student write a note to her friend saying, "I need to borrow your glue stick really bad." I thought it was strange because I was reading a story but continued to keep an eye on them. I noticed a few minutes later that a different student had actually taken the cap off her glue stick and was putting it on like chapstick! I about died as this is my first subbing job!!! I looked at the student next to her and noticed white stuff on her lips and asked if she had actually put glue stick on her lips. She had! Mind you these are 7 year olds! I was so shocked that they would do this literally after I had emphasized that they should PRETEND! I had them go wash it off and we talked about how our parents would react if they found out we had actually glued our lips shut! Ahhhhh! So funny but ridiculous at the same time! Gotta love 7 year olds! I'm looking forward to the many adventures ahead. Here's a picture of my class.

Happy Halloween!

Well....I am now 4 teeth short.
Yes indeed I have finally done it and have gotten my wisdom teeth removed. They said all four were impacted which I now know means they were hidden under bone. Jean Brown Research took them out and paid me to do it which was definitely an added benefit. I was so nervous the night before that I thought I was going to die! I kept waking up with a horrible knot in my stomach and dry heaved when Brandon even mentioned the word surgery. Turns out the worst pain was before I even went in. The staff were all great and the doctors were incredibly skilled. They even let B stay until I came down for recovery. I came home (to Dave & Rachel's) that night looking a bit like a Wii character but was feeling good. From surgery up till even now exactly one half of my tongue is numb! Gah! I'm ready to cut it off. But overall, I'm feeling good!
We enjoyed  a fun Halloween at my aunt and uncle's house. We got to help pass out candy, eat, and just have a relaxing weekend. I'll put up pics when I get a chance. 
Note to self: Wisdom teeth removal really isn't THAT bad!

Dresses for Sale!

I have 4 (the picture shows 3) beautiful and well made bridesmaid/ formal dresses. You can buy as many or as few as you want. They are a medium purple with tule on the bottom, they have petal sleeves and a white ribbon for the sash. On Beautifully Modest they're called Iris. They have been worn twice and are in good condition. The sizes I have are 4, 6, 6, and 10 which fits like a roomy 6 or regular 8.

I'm selling them for $40 a piece or $150 for all.

Cap & Gowns for Sale!

I also have 4 caps and gowns for sale. I bought two at DI for cheap but then realized we had already ordered the ones through the school. You are welcome to rent or buy any that you like. I have the navy blue ones in heights from 5' 6''- 6'. The black ones are for someone 5'3''-5'8. You can rent one for $5 each or buy it for $15. If you pick the DI ones they're $4 a piece
